In 2005 we, the Davis family, moved to beautiful Weardale and bought the Black Bull Inn at Frosterley. We had noticed how few traditional pubs were left across Britain and so we decided to create our own based on OUR idea of what a real pub should be like.
Set in 30 acres of simply stunning countryside the Black Horse boasts its very own 10 acres of on site vegetable gardens and orchards, offering its customers a rare “field to plate” dining experience. From growing our own produce to sourcing the finest wines, our vision for the future is just beginning.
Bradley Burn Farm Shop and Cafe is housed in a beautiful Scandinavian log cabin in lower Weardale. Tables on our terrace overlook the burn flowing past. There is an enclosed play area, a way-marked farm trail and lots of dog walks - all free for our customers. We specialise in the best of local and regional food and offer a wide variety of quality fresh food.
