Headlam Hall is a 17th century country house set in beautiful gardens and surrounded by open countryside. This family owned and run hotel has 40 bedrooms, a restaurant, ballroom, meeting rooms, a luxury spa and a 9 hole golf course. All our red meat is reared from farms in County Durham, and a local farmer also rears some of the lambs on our own land at Headlam.

We raise Tamworth weaners for sale and we sell traditionally raised pork. We raise two litters per year from our sow Tulip. The weaners raised for pork live outdoors in woodland and are fed on pig nuts, veg from our garden and apples from our trees. They live how nature intended roaming free and playing happily. Our sow gives birth naturally creating a natural straw nest for her piglets.
Our microbrewery produces 14 different award winning real ales, all made from our own farm grown malted barley. They are produced on a working farm, and are all named after our farm animals. Our four core ales are Auld Hemp, Nel's Best, Matfen Magic and Black Moss.
Highside Farm produces traditional rare breed meat from breeds that were found locally in the past including Teeswater sheep and Shorthorn cattle.
