Fruitful Durham

By Valentina - Posted on 30 June 2012

We are Amy, Julian, Valentina and Fiona.
Established in the summer of 2012, our co-operative Community Interest Company puts local surplus fruit and vegetables to good use, and increases access and availability of fruit and vegetables in the community.
We pick and process unwanted produce. If you have a glut of fruit or veg you can't use, we can help you harvest it and turn it into seasonal products for sale including fresh fruit, dried fruit, preserves and juices.
We run courses in grafting, pruning and looking after fruit trees and also offer gardening services.

All our profits go towards planting fruit trees and supporting local community food projects.
We grew from a project of Transition Durham with whom we share our philosophy.

Winners of the Social and Community Enterprise award, Durham Blueprint 2012.
We would love to hear from people willing to volunteer during the apple harvest in October.
